We are so happy you have chosen St. Frances of Rome to help you continue to grow the faith of your child and entire family! We dream of a parish full of families that know Jesus, have received their sacraments, pray together often, attend mass weekly, and are active in our parish community. We know that growth in our faith has to exist outside of sacramental preparation processes so we created Ongoing Faith Formation Ministries for all different ages.

Whether your child just finished their first communion (3rd-5th grade), is in middle school (6th-8th grade), or looking for more in high school (9th-12th grade), there is a ministry for them. Each ministry is designed to continue to provide opportunities to deepen their relationship with Jesus and His Church through engaging activities and community building.

We’ve put together a simple overview below that explains how the Ongoing Faith Formation Ministries work at our parish. Take a look to see what’s involved and how to get started! 

**Please keep in mind, these ministries are not meant to prepare the child for any sacramental prep. If your child is in need of receiving sacraments such as baptism, first holy communion, or confirmation please talk to the coordinator directly. 

Our Elementary Ministry is designed for children who have received their First Communion but are not yet old enough to join Middle School Ministry. It includes a combination of seasonal gatherings at the parish and meaningful at-home experiences for families to share together, similar to those used during the First Communion process. Our goal is to help families build a strong spiritual foundation by connecting children and their families to the life of the Church, Scripture, and the lives of the Saints – guiding them on their journey of discipleship throughout their elementary school years.

Parish gatherings include events such as Advent prayer services, Christmas celebrations, Lenten prayer services, service projects, community events, and more. These events will be communicated via email or text through Flocknote, social media (Instagram: @sfryouthministry), online on our parish website, and in the parish bulletin.

The at-home resources we use are called "Witness" and "Wonder" – tools designed to help families learn more about Scripture and the Saints through hands-on, faith-filled activities. Witness invites families to encounter the lives of the Saints and discover their call to sainthood as they cook simple recipes and have meaningful conversations. Wonder encourages families to encounter the power of the parables of Jesus, draw out the moral of each story, and explore how to apply it to their daily lives.

Our Jr. High Ministry is a non sacramental faith building group open to all 6th- 8th graders in the area! We know middle school can be one of the hardest chapters of a young persons life and we want to be part of it. We are here as a youth ministry to create a safe space for our middle schoolers to have a place to tackle life's toughest questions, learn about including their faith in their daily lives and build a community as the young church. Using catechetical teachings as well as games, activities, and faith sharing, our youth are encouraged to embrace God and their Catholic faith, and are more prepared for entering high school as well as Confirmation in 9th grade. 

Jr. High Ministry meets weekly on Monday Afternoons in the Youth Room (506 N Soldano Ave) from 3:30-5:00pm

Our High School Ministry is a faith building group open to all 9th-12th graders in the area! One does not have to be enrolled in confirmation in order to participate in these gatherings. Our High School Ministry has one goal: to help teens encounter and build a relationship with Jesus. High School Ministry is a place for high school teens to tackle life's toughest questions, learn about including their faith in their daily lives and build a community as the young church. Using catechetical teachings as well as games, activities, and faith sharing, our youth are encouraged to embrace God and their Catholic faith, and are more prepared for entering college / life after high school.
